Meet amanda Johnson Fleming
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner | Pediatric Mental Health Specialist
Amanda Johnson Fleming is a board‑certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who is deeply committed to supporting the emotional and mental health of children and adolescents—always within the context of their families. Outside of her clinical work, Amanda values time at home with her family, enjoys exploring the outdoors, and loves to travel when time allows. She also has a special fondness for all things Disney, reflecting her genuine appreciation for childhood joy, connection, and imagination—values that naturally extend into her work with young people.
Amanda is an ideal provider for children and adolescents ages 4–17 and for families seeking thoughtful, collaborative, and developmentally informed mental health care. She works especially well with families who value open communication, consistency, and a holistic approach to emotional wellness. Parents often appreciate Amanda’s ability to balance clinical expertise with warmth, patience, and a strong emphasis on partnership in care.
With nearly 10 years of independent practice in child and adolescent outpatient psychiatry, Amanda brings extensive experience to comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care. Her background includes years of Registered Nurse experience working alongside pediatricians specializing in behavioral health treatment within primary care, as well as Lead RN roles in both child/adolescent and adult outpatient psychiatric settings. This diverse clinical experience allows her to approach care with depth, flexibility, and a strong understanding of the full continuum of pediatric mental health needs.
Amanda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Public Health Nurse registration from St. Catherine University in 2013, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the same institution in December 2016. She became board‑certified and licensed in January 2017 and completed additional training as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist in December 2017.
Her clinical interests include trauma, ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders, and she is dedicated to providing care that supports not only symptom management, but long‑term emotional wellness. Amanda takes a family‑centered and holistic approach, developing individualized treatment plans rooted in evidence‑based research and close collaboration with caregivers, providers, and the broader healthcare team. She believes that strong communication and continuity of care are essential to meaningful progress.
Amanda is passionate about access to mental health care, equity in services, and consistency in treatment. She prioritizes building authentic, long‑term relationships with her patients and families, investing time in truly getting to know each child as an individual in order to develop the most effective and supportive care plan possible.
“If you didn’t come from a healthy family, make sure a healthy family comes from you.
As trauma can be inherited, so can healing.”
